HUM 120 College Success through Sense of Place

3 credits

Designed for first year students, this course, through a variety of readings, activities and discussions, examines the various ways we relate to places in which we find ourselves. It will focus on helping Sitka Start students find their college groove, establish goals, and gain confidence while becoming grounded in the story and place that is Sitka and Alaska. The purpose of this course is to stimulate thinking and meaningful action, as students find their place in the university setting. Corequisites: English 092 or higher concurrent enrollment, or placement test, or instructor permission.

This Humanities GER will have special financial incentives available for Sitka Start Students

This course is designed for incoming freshmen, including Sitka Start students.
