This short course explains terms related to cross-connections in potable water systems, the significance of cross-connections to public health, reviews basic distribution system hydraulics, and discusses the theory of backflow and backsiphonage.

The course also covers backflow prevention methods and devices, backflow assembly testing, cross-connection control programs, and ends with examples of potential cross-connection situations and corrective actions.

This is a noncredit training, for Water and Wastewater Operators, which earns 1.5 continuing education contact hours.

It is an online course, open for enrollment at any time. Once you register and pay, an email will be sent to you with your course access information.
