This short course introduces sewage treatment lagoons and discusses major advantages and disadvantages of their use.
The course presents the types of lagoons, the theory of biological stabilization activity within the lagoons, the physical components of lagoons systems, factors affecting waste treatment in a lagoon, routine inspection and maintenance, operational tests and measurements, treatment process control strategies, mathematic calculations related to lagoons, and lagoon safety.
This is a noncredit training, for Water and Wastewater Operators, which earns 5 continuing education contact hours.
