The questions below are NOT intended to substitute for the Offical UAS Placement Test. They are intended to give you a very quick indicaton of the general math level required to enroll in standard math courses.
You should be able to answer the following problems correctly without using a calculator (Except to check your math).
These are the types of problems covered in Math 055. Before enrolling in Math 105, you should be able to work out the following types of problems with pencil and paper. If its been a while since you took Math and you don't get the correct answer, you should readily know how to tackle that type of problem, easily identify any mistakes you make, and be able calculate the correct answers.

Farmer John had both chickens and ducks in his barnyard. There were 67 more chickens than ducks. He has a total of 613 birds. How many of each type of bird does he have?
He has 273 ducks and 340 chickens.
