UAS Online courses cover the same topics and use the same textbooks as on-campus lecture classes. Instructional activities, homework and chapter tests are completed online, rather than in a classroom. Even though class acrivities are completed by students independently, the classes are structured with firm deadlines.
This is a pre-algebra course covering basic math concepts. Topics include estimating, operations with fractions and decimals, percent applications, ratios and proportions, measurement and metric, geometry operations, basic statistics and graphing, algebra concepts (signed numbers, short equations, formulas). Math 054 is a review course and does NOT fulfill UAS math requirements for certificates and degrees.
This course covers the topics usually presented in Algebra I in a traditional high school math program. It is intended for students who have never taken an algebra course before or who need a thorough review. Topics include: signed numbers, solving and graphing linear equations and inequalities, operations with polynomials and exponents, factoring, operations with rational expressions and equations. This is a review class. You should check with your advisor to see how this class fits into your program.
This course covers properties, graphs, and applications of linear, quadratic, rational, and radical functions. This class meets the math requirement for the associate of arts degree.
A detailed study of linear, quadratic, rational, radical, exponential
and logarithmic functions; operations on and applications of these
functions, and selected topics from algebra.
