Bachelor of Arts in Social Science

The degree requires a student to complete the University general education requirements (GERs), a series of core classes specific to the social sciences, classes designated by the student’s selection of the primary area of concentration (similar to a major), classes designated in each of two additional disciplines the student chooses to study, and the remaining credits in electives (which can include a minor). Forty-two of these credits must be upper division in accordance with University requirements.

It is common to graduate with more than the minimum number of credits required, based on personal interest, course availability, and planning. It is highly recommended that students maintain an active role, with their academic advisor, in planning their course of study in order to get the most out of their college experience and financial commitments to their education.
