CIOS Placement Test Information
General Information
To be eligible to enroll directly into certain computer classes (e.g. CIOS 235 or CIOS 240) you must pass the Computer Placement Test--a test that verifies a student has a foundation of computer literacy.
The test can be taken in the following UAS campus testing centers:

Test Topics
The Placement Test covers computer literacy concepts listed on a table at the following Webpage: http://www.certiport.com/portal/common/ImageLibrary/ic3overview.gif. Review the table, and if you feel knowledgeable about everything covered on the table, please contact the Learning Center to take the test (796-6224). If you pass the test, you are immediately eligible to register for computer classes that require CIOS 105: Computer Literacy as a prerequisite. If you do not pass the test, enroll in CIOS 105: Computer Literacy.
If most of the concepts on the table are unfamiliar, then do NOT take the test. Instead, enroll in CIOS 105: Computer Literacy.
Time Limit
You will have 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the set of placement exam computer activities.
Assessment Evaluation
The documents you create for the placement exam will be submitted to the CIOS grader by the proctor. The exam will be manually graded within 3 business days after your proctor has submitted your exam files to the CIOS grader. Your score will be emailed to you using the email address you used to register for the exam. You must receive an 80% or higher on the exam to pass. If you receive 79% or lower, plan to register for CIOS 105 (Computer Literacy).
