The event was well attended by students and several representatives from the accounting industry in Juneau. 2014 Path to Prosperity Finalists to receive SOM Scholarship

Do you or someone you know have an idea or dream to run a business? The Path to Prosperity Competition (P2P) identifies and supports innovative business ideas in Southeast Alaska. Year two of the P2P business development competition is now open. In round one, applicants must submit an “Apply to Compete” registration form and a description of the business concept by May 30, 2014.

On-campus Tax Prep Assistance in the Learning Center for UAS Students

Accounting students and faculty member, Julie Hamilton, are hosting a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) self-assisted tax prep site on the UAS Juneau campus. The VITA site provides free assistance to students in completing their taxes on-line. Come to the Learning Center between 1:00-4:00 pm on February 28th, March 7th, April 4, and April 11th.  Bring your 2013 tax documents (W-2, 1098-T, etc.). The VITA sites are available for students with an income of less than $58,000. 

The VITA program is provided by UAS School of Management in partnership with the Tlingit & Haida Regional Housing Authority and MyFreeTaxes.com.
