How to Apply

To apply for admission to the MPA program:

1. Contact Dr. Kathy DiLorenzo, MPA Director or Valentina Jimmerson, Staff Academic Advisor at 800-478-9069 to set up an advising session.

2. Complete the online application and submit $50.00 application fee: http://uaonline.alaska.edu
3. Submit official academic transcript showing baccalaureate degree.
   (An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required)
4. Submit a current professional resume or vita;
5. Submit a two page (approximately1000 words) statement of professional objectives describing past public and non-profit experiences, outlining professional goals and stating how the MPA program will help you achieve your professional objectives. Please note how you heard about the MPA program at UAS.
6. Submit 3 recommendations addressing professional dispositions using the MPA form. These forms may be faxed to 877-465-6549 or submitted electronically with the rest of your documentation. If forms are electronically submitted they must come from the e-mail address of the individual who is completing the recommendation form.

• Applicants are required to have completed an introductory statistics and micro economics course prior to admission to the program.
• Admission to the program is based on an evaluation of the full range of application materials submitted. Once you have submitted all your application materials your file will be sent to the Program Director for evaluation. The Director's recommendation for admission is sent to the Dean for approval.
• All application materials must be submitted prior to the end of the semester in which online application is submitted.
• While you may take up to two MPA classes before admission is required, we encourage you to complete the application process promptly.
