Register for Classes

You have serveral ways to register for classes

• In person, either in Juneau or through your Distance Coordinator (First time enrollees must register in person)
• Online at http://uaonline.alaska.edu/
  UA Online is also the source for grades, unofficial transcripts and financial records
• By Fax to 907-796-6365 Forms are available online at http://www.uas.alaska.edu/forms/
• By mail to:

  • 11120 Glacier Highway
  • Juneau, Alaska 99801-8692

For general registration questions please call the UAS Registration Desk at 907-796-6458 or the Public Administration Staff at 796-6402 (toll free 1-800-478-9069). You may register for classes up to several months before class begins. Tuition is not required until the semester starts. Late registration fees are assessed to those registering after the beginning of classes.

Class size is limited to 25 (without instructor permission)

Getting Started After Registering for your Classes

Your UAS computer account will be created within 24 hours after you register for classes. At that time find your UAS user ID, password and student number at ELMO  Your user id and password are for UAS Online.  Your student number is permanent and accesses your University records at UAOnline.  Click on UASOnline Student Guide to listen to a tutorial of the UAS Online course management system. 

After you login to UASOnline you will see links to the classes for which you are registered. First click on "edit options" button for your personal profile, upload a current picture of yourself and edit the email address to the account where you wish to receive University email.  You automatically receive a UAS email account.  When you edit your email profile, all messages to your UAS account will be forwarded to your preferred account.  Find more information about your UAS email account.

Now go to your class site and read any messages from the instructor. You should see a list of the books required for your class.  Make sure you order your books promptly so they will arrive in time for class.  

You must order your own books.  The UAS Juneau Bookstore does not stock them.  You can order from any online textbook vendor.
