1. SUMMER AND FALL REGISTRATION BEGINS APRIL 3
Registration for all students for summer session begins April 3. Students admitted to the MPA program may also register for Fall semester beginning April 3. New or non-admitted students may register for Fall classes beginning April 17.
Please let me know if you are planning to take a summer class, and if so which one. THIS IS IMPORTANT!
2. SUMMER CLASSES and TEXTBOOKS
Planned classes are always posted on the MPA site at http://www.uas.alaska.edu/mpa/ancourse.htm. Fall and Spring semesters we offer the full set of core classes. Electives are offered during the summer.

4. REMINDER ON ADMISSION AND ENROLLMENT
This is a reminder that students must be admitted to the program before enrolling in their 4th class. Please take care of this administrative requirement as soon as possible.
5. SUMMER COMPUTER ACCOUNTS
Computer accounts and access to library databases are enabled each semester a student is enrolled. Computer account access during the summer months is enabled if a student is registered for summer OR if they have pre-registered for Fall courses. So pre-register to continue your account.
6. TIME CHANGE POSSIBILITY- I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK
Last month I mentioned the possibility of changing class start time from the normal 7pm to 6pm (Alaska time). I received 15 responses.
Eight voted for a change to 6pm. Five wanted to remain at 7pm, one was ambivalent, and one suggested splitting the difference to 6:30pm. I encourage others to please provide me with their opinions. This is still an open question.
7. JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Resource Management Specialist III -- minimum requirements are two years experience or an MPA

8. ALUMNI NEWS
Kathy Fast (03) was recently promoted to Commander in the Coast Guard Reserve. She was also appointed to the Commandant’s Diversity Council in DC.
9. MPA SCHOLARSHIP FUND
I continue to seek those interested in beginning an MPA scholarship Fund. Please let me know if you would be willing to help in sharing in organizing and fundraising.
