Outstanding Contribution to the Campus Community
Marquam George was nominated for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching U.S. Professors of the Year program.
Marquam George, Assoc. Professor of Construction Technology, was nominated by UAS for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching U.S. Professors of the Year program this fall. While not selected for the national award, Marquam was UAS's pick this year. Marquam's nomination recognizes his outstanding contributions to the campus community and salutes him as one of our most outstanding undergraduate instructors. He is someone who excels as a teacher and influences the lives and careers of his students.
In his nomination, one of Marquam's students said it all: "Marquam George has the ability to open minds to the industry needs and teach us how we must think to meet the needs of tomorrow. ... The past three years have been tough at times but with the help of Marquam as my advisor, I have managed to make this the life changing experience that it was supposed to be. People should be recognized for their deeds, and the good things that they do to influence the lives of others. Marquam is an outstanding professor, an outstanding advisor, and a good friend to all students that are lucky enough to be in the Construction Technology program at UAS."
