Faculty Excellence Awards

First Annual UAS Faculty Excellence Awards in Teaching, Research, and Service
The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding faculty excellence in our workload areas of Teaching, Service, or Research.Awards will be presented at fall convocation for 2006-2007 awardees, and thereafter at commencement in May beginning with 2007-2008 awardees. All UAS faculty full-time UAS Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka faculty are eligible.
Applications must include:
1. Completed application form available on UAS Faculty Senate website at http://www.uas.alaska.edu/FacultySenate/

2. Three letters of support from faculty, research colleagues, students, staff, or community members who can verify and support your excellence in your category for 2006-2007 academic year.

Time Frame:
Deadline for 2006-2007 faculty applicant submission to your Faculty Senator is April 27, 2007. Faculty Senate President elect and a subcommittee of senate members will evaluate forms and forward selected candidates to the Provost and Chancellor.
The Provost and Chancellor will make the final determination of the three awardees.

Award: Each faculty award recipient will receive $1,000 and One Alaska Airlines EZ Biz plane ticket good for wherever AK Airlines flies.

Your UAS Faculty Senate has established these awards to help UAS faculty continue to strive for professional excellence by recognizing and publicly acknowledging their efforts. We also wanted to provide three tangible rewards which can be used to facilitate travel to meetings, trainings, or general attitude adjustment.
