UAS Hosts International Polar Year Speaker

Responses to Climate Change In and Around Streams the Arctic and the Antarctic in the UAS Egan Lecture Hall on Mon., April 23 at 7 pm

Dr. Michael Gooseff of the Colorado School of Mines will present Responses to Climate Change In and Around Streams the Arctic and the Antarctic in the UAS Egan Lecture Hall on Mon., April 23 at 7 pm. Gooseff will narrate a spectacular series of photographs taken in Alaska’s Arctic regions and in the Antarctic Dry Valleys. The sideshow will illustrate changes in stream ecosystems, which are the result of global climate change.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Dr. Gooseff’s visit is funded by the International Polar Year Alaska funds and is sponsored by UAS. IPY is a global effort to gather information on the changing Polar Regions and to share how that change is impacting the health of our biosphere.
