Oil Burner Maintenance and Troubleshooting Course
Course on UAS Ketchikan campus, Feb 23-27
The University of Alaska Community Education and Professional Development conducted an Oil Burner Maintenance and Troubleshooting course at the UAS Ketchikan Technical Center February 23-27. The course is taught by Ed Besch of Besch Consultants in Kirkland, Washington. Thirteen participants spent 6 hours per day for 5 days learning about new oil burner pumps, solid state igniters, burner controls, proper wiring, and combustion testing equipment. The course also provided hands-on troubleshooting in the ἀeld where they were able to put these newly learned skills to use. Sue Barlow of the UAS Sitka Campus COED Department provided administrative support and kept things running smoothly throughout the 5 day course.
