Student Enrollment & Admissions Weekend
The third annual Student Enrollment & Admissions (SEA) Weekend was a sunny success.
Seventeen students and eight parents flew in on Friday, June 5. The group went on a hike at Auke Rec, had dinner at the Student Housing Lodge and stayed overnight in Banfield Hall. On Saturday the group participated in Enrollment Day on campus, ate lunch at the Twisted Fish, rode the Mt Roberts Tramway, visited the glacier and had a BBQ at Skater's Cabin. Sunday the students and parents returned home.
All seventeen students met with advisors, registered for classes and got their Student ID cards. The parents participated in a session lead by Barbara Hegel, Tish Satre and Bruce Gifford. “Overall the weekend was fantastic,” writes Outreach and Orientation Coordinator Julie Staveland. “The students bonded with each other, had the opportunity to explore campus and Juneau, see where they would be living in the Fall and complete their enrollment needs.”
