Tanner Crab Research Wins Grant

Student Eric Keller will use molecular tools to identify the causative agent of the disease which is adinoflagellate

Marine Biology student Eric Keller received an NSFEPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) undergraduate research fellowship to work with UAS faculty Dr. Sherry Tamone on bitter crab disease in Tanner crab. He will be funded thorough the Spring and Summer of 2010 to analyze blood samples collected from Tanner crab in Prince William Sound. Eric will use molecular tools to identify the causative agent of the disease which is a dinoflagellate. The fellowship is for $8000.
