Rita Marie Fuller, 52, Sitka, AK, passed away November 27, 2009, at her parents' home in Liberty, MO.
Rita Marie Fuller, 52, Sitka, AK, passed away November
27, 2009, at her parents' home in Liberty, MO. A memorial
service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, at the
McGilley Antioch Chapel in Liberty, MO. Rita was born
May 23, 1957, in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from St.
Charles Borromeo Catholic School, Antioch Middle School
& Oak Park High School. Afterwards she moved west living
in the states of California, Washington & Oregon before
settling in Alaska. She had lived in Sitka for the past sixteen years. Rita was a computer technician for
the University of Alaska Southeast Sitka
Campus. She was employed by UAS
for the past twelve years & earned two
degrees. Rita ran a successful restaurant,
was a member of the Elks Lodge, was an
artist, an accomplished pool player, and
she was an adventurer, traveling in her
younger years, even obtaining first mate
on a commercial fishing vessel. Survivors
include her daughter, Marita C. Fuller,
Sitka, AK; son, Chris C. Fuller, Anchorage, AK; parents, Tom
& Rita Fuller, Liberty, MO; brothers, Tom Fuller & wife,
Judy, Lawson, MO, Bob Fuller & wife, Melissa, Smithville,
MO, & Tim Fuller, Gladstone, MO; sister, Peggy Pursley &
husband, Norman, Kansas City, MO; 2 best friends, Sandra
Burgess, Sitka, AK & Angelique Pursell, Liberty, MO; &
numerous nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family
asks that donations be made in Rita's name to the University
of Alaska Southeast Marine Mammal Fund, ID# 20752, UAS
