Charting Our Course: Developing New Accreditation Standards

A team of faculty and administrators (Jill Dumesnil, Kathy DiLorenzo, Cathy LeCompte, and Robbie Stell) is traveling to the three campuses the week of March 8 to engage the UAS community in a conversation about the new accreditation standards. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities will be visiting UAS during fall 2011, to follow up on our progress in responding to the recommendations outlined in their 2009 report. Additionally, we will be writing a report addressing the new Standard One which is also due Fall 2011.

The team will present several sessions on each campus to provide an overview of the new process and delve into specifics on Standard One which pertains to mission and core themes. This is where you come in: we will need your input regarding the interpretation and affirmation of our mission, and your help in identifying our core themes.

The team will be in Ketchikan on March 9, Sitka on the 10th, and Juneau, the 11th. "Charting Our Course" Juneau accreditation workshops will be at 9 AM and 2:30 pm on Thursday, March 11 in Egan 104. Your participation is strongly encouraged and appreciated.
