FAFSA Frenzy Faculty Winner
English faculty Emily Wall is the winner of a $250 prize for inspiring students to apply for the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).
According to Financial Aid
Director Barbara Burnnet, “Every faculty
member in the entire UA system was sent
an email asking them to promote the
FAFSA Frenzy campaign in some way -
announcing it in class, posting it on their class website, etc.
Then they were asked to email SW Student Services Manager
Cathy Ewing. Everyone who responded back to Cathy
was entered in a drawing for a $250 prize to go to their
Department.”
A total of 7,062 students submitted their FAFSAs in January/February 2010, a 17.5% increase over January/ February 2009.
