Hill travels to the Yukon-Kuskokwim delta
Assists in the assessment of archaeological sites
Assistant Professor of Anthropology Erica Hill went to the Yukon-Kuskokwim delta in September to assist in the assessment of archaeological sites for the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She spent two days flying to remote sites by helicopter to relocate, record, and evaluate the condition of archaeological features. She visited a Bering Sea site with the remains of caribou, birds, and sea mammals and took samples for carbon dating.
