ENVS Faculty participate in GeoFest

A family-friendly event at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center on Sat. Nov.12 from 1-4 pm.

UAS professors Sanjay Pyare and Eran Hood are teaming up with the Alaska Geographic Alliance (alaskageo.ning.com) to put on GeoFest, a free, family-friendly event at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center on Sat. Nov. 12 from 1-4 pm.  Local agencies and educational groups will share hands-on activities for all to enjoy, in keeping with this year's Geography Awareness Week theme, "Geography: the Adventure in Your Community".

The GeoFest Juneau event will kick-off Alaska's statewide celebration of Geography Awareness Week, which is a time for families, students, teachers, and the general public to promote and celebrate the study of geography. The week will culminate with a GeoFest in Fairbanks on Nov.19.
