Geologists Unite in San Francisco
UAS participants gave 13 oral or poster presentations and chaired four sessions at this global gathering of 22,000 Earth and Space Scientists.
Several UAS faculty members participated in the 45th Annual Fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, CA, December 3-7. Jason Amundson, Cathy Connor, Eran Hood, and Jason Fellman attended along with UAS Environmental Science graduates Logan Berner, Natt Kugler and Rebecca Marjerison and former faculty members Matt Heavner and M. Todd Walter. UAS participants gave 13 oral or poster presentations and chaired four sessions at this global gathering of 22,000 Earth and Space Scientists. Presentation titles included: Glacier seismology in a coastal temperate rainforest; Recurrence of July Jokulhlaup Flooding in the Mendenhall Glacier Watershed is Driven by Record Breaking Precipitation, Regional Warming, and the Collapse of a Tributary Glacier near Juneau, AK USA and How will glaciers affect runoff in Alaska? Both Amundson and Connor co-chaired oral and poster sessions at the conference.
