Appointments, publications and workshops
Associate Professor of Biology David Tallmon was recently appointed to the National Marine Fisheries Service's Alaska Scientific Review Group, which reviews the status of imperiled marine mammal stocks in Alaska and makes management and research recommendations to federal agencies based on these reviews.
Assistant Professor of English Sarah Jaquette Ray recently had an article accepted for publication. "Normalcy, Knowledge, and Nature in Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" will be published in the summer 2013 issues of Disability Studies Quarterly.
A workshop for invited professionals, “Assessing the Impacts of Glacier Change in the Coastal Temperate Rainforest”, is happening at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center March 5-6. The workshop is in conjunction with Associate Professor of Environmental Science Eran Hood’s US Geological Survey grant and approximately 30 professionals are expected to attend.
