"Voices of Glacier Bay"

Dr. Richard Nelson of Sitka and Hank Lentfer of Gustavus were the featured speakers at a Natural History Seminar series presentation on the Sitka Campus Thursday, December 5. Nelson and Lentfer discussed their project "Voices of Glacier Bay National Park." The project is an effort to create a library documenting natural sounds from the park, including everything from the subtle scratches of a crab's claw on sand grains, to the reverberating trumpet calls of humpback whales as they echo across the bay.
