Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the UAS Recreation Center
Have you ever wanted to learn the basics of social dance such as how to ask someone to dance, how to escort them onto the dance floor, and basic dance steps so you have the knowledge and confidence to get out on the dance floor? Are you curious about how to dress for special occasions or what’s the difference between business attire, semi-formal, and formal wear?
Are you looking for an opportunity to learn new dance skills?
Are you interested in dancing to the music of a live big band?
Are you looking for a fun mid-winter activity?
Are you interested in a free event?
If so, come to the UAS Winter Etiquette Ball on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the UAS Recreation Center!
The evening will start at 7:30pm with an hour of Dance 101 instruction by Pat Belec (the university’s Ballroom Dance instructor), followed by an evening of dance with live music provided by the Thunder Mountain Big Band. At 9:30pm there will be a brief presentation on Dress Etiquette where you will learn about special event dress traditions and customs so you will know how to pull together the right ensemble, stress-free and with style!
Formal attire suggested, but come as you can.
This event is hosted by the UAS Dance Club with the generous support from the UAS Alumni Association, Recreation Center, and the Juneau International Folk Dancers.
We hope you will join us and pass the word on to others.
