The UAS-wide Peer Review for Course Improvement Committee works to bring attention to Peer Review and encourage course excellence.
Over the last three years the committee comprised of faculty and instructional designers has developed a Peer Review rubric, trained a group of faculty how to review courses effectively, and conducted one formal course review.
The committee has developed a website (http://uas.alaska.edu/idc/fac/peer/index.html) to explain the peer review process, provide access to the forms, and document what has been accomplished.
One UAS course will be reviewed both spring and summer semesters. In addition to these two formal reviews, the committee is scheduling some informal peer review sessions where participants will look at 3-4 courses through the lens of a different peer review standard each session. Mark your calendar and plan to join us for the first Peer Review Standard Mini-Review, February 14th at 9 AM. More details will be posted at http://facultylearningcorner.wordpress.com and sent via email.
