Alpha Zeta Theta
In 2006 UAS established its first National co-ed Fraternity - Alpha Zeta Theta. These APO member represent the founders of the local Chapter here at UAS. Also, notice the National APO president on the far left!
Service
Our Chapter has been particularly avid about serving the community in as many capacities as we can provide. The VP of service and members work together to plan out service projects. Many times we team up with organizations in Juneau to carryout projects, but as our fraternity expands we hope to plan our own service projects to benefit our community!
"There's a sense of the greater good which really pushes us to do more for our campus, community and world at large. Plus, it's just plain fun." - Tara Fritzinger
Fellowship
Along with service APO finds enjoyment and strength in each other. As a group who seeks to serve our community we also seek to serve each other in the capacity as friends. Often times Alpha Zeta Theta simply gets together for a fire and some hot dogs, other times for movies and such - all in all, our group tries to building helpful and enduring friendships to benefit not only our fraternity, but our general community.
"Brotherhood is the spirit of friendship. It implies respect, honesty and dependability. It means that we overlook differences and emphasize similarities as we join together in unselfish service. It means listening to Brothers whose views on issues might differ from our own. It means working closely with people whom under other circumstances we might not choose as our friends." - APO National Page

Before we became a recognized chapter we had one of our first fellowships at a hot spring outside of Fairbanks!

APO has offered several chances for us to travel with one another, giving ample opportunity to get to know one another.

Leadership
College, like most of life, is a learning experience. APO gives a chance for every member to find and develop their leadership styles. Fostering leaders with our key values of Service and Fellowship, we hope will contribute to the overall health and prosperity of our community and ourselves.
"The only safe ship in a storm is leadership." Faye Wattleton [U.S. Activist]
