For Students

Placement Testing at UAS: 

• No appointment required!  Simply come to The Learning Center and ask for a placement test!
• All students enrolling in Math or English courses at UAS are required to take a placement test prior to enrollment
• We currently use Accuplacer tests for Math and English, and SamChallenge tests for CIOS
• No time limit on any placement test!  (except when we close, so come early)
• Average test durations:
  Math Placement: 1 hour
  English Placement: 2.5 hours

How to Prepare:

• The Learning Center math tutors are ready to help you study!
  
• Math textbooks are available for checkout
• Studying before taking placement tests helps you get placed correctly

• Students wishing to take a placement test before arriving in Juneau need to find an exam proctor
