Question #4 How do you find the money to pay for college?

Filling out the FAFSA -- How To

To receive student financial aid, you must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every school year.

When do I apply?
Soon after January 1st.
Your award is determined each award year, one year at a time.

Fill out the FAFSA with a computer and internet access:
  • Start at the Federal Student Aid site
  • Go to the FAFSA logo in the left column for FAFSA information
  • Fill out the FAFSA with a paper form by getting a copy from your school or writing to:
    Federal Student Aid Information Center
    P.O. Box 84
    Washington, DC 20044
    or calling: 1-800-433-3243

After your application is processed you will receive a student aid report (SAR). Your SAR lets you know what funding you are eligible for.

If you want to apply again it is easiest to RENEW FAFSA.

It is recommended that you make copies for future reference.
