Question #5 What can you do to succeed in college?

Academic Advisor

For many students, college is myriad of many new people, policies, and services. How do you know what rules apply to you, who to turn to when you need help? How do you know what classes lead to what degrees? What classes you need in order to graduate from this college? How can you avoid costly mistakes?

The Answer: Your Academic Advisor.

At first your advisor will help you navigate the maze of academic college life. This includes selecting courses and registering for classes.

Over time, you will turn to your advisor for help resolving conflicts, obtaining funding and setting career goals. Your advisor is a key person in your college career.

Make an appointment to visit your advisor early, and check back with that person on a regular basis.
