Question #5 What can you do to succeed in college?

Taking Placement Tests

Many of the courses you take in college are in sequence. Since students start at different skill levels, it is important that students start with the right course.

You can take placement tests in English, Math, and Computers to find out what courses are right for you.

UAS offers the following tests:

  • English
The ACT Asset exam for English placement takes about two hours to complete, and is scored by UAS English staff.

It involves a multiple choice section and an essay section.
  • Math
The ACT Asset exam for Math takes about one hour to complete, and is scored by UAS Math staff.

Scores and placement are available immediately upon completion of the exam.

  • Computers
Computer placement exams vary in length, and are scored by UAS Computers faculty.

Usually scores and placement are available immediately upon completion of the exam.
  • To arrange a distance English, Math, or Computers placement exam, you will need to identify an education coordinator in your area who can proctor your exam or call 1-800-478-6653 ext. 721.
