Web Timesheets are Coming
This coming fall, the University of Alaska Southeast will begin piloting a web-based time reporting system. For many of the University's employees, the new system will require some minor changes in the way time is reported, approved and transmitted to Payroll. For more information regarding web timesheets, please review the letter from Statewide Office of Human Resources. Attached to the letter are examples of how the new time sheets will look in UA Online.

Web Recruitment is Here
The University of Alaska has moved to a paperless recruitment system. Human Resources will collect employment materials on-line, screen applications electronically, distribute applications electronically, provide automated status updates to applicants and notify potential applicants electronically about new positions. To access the system, go to: www.uakjobs.com.
Human Resources will also be able to create job requisitions and submit all documents electronically to initiate a search and to post all labor pool, temporary, adjunct, and student positions in one location for applicants. Position descriptions (PDs) will be submitted electronically for evaluation and classification. Training in the use of the new system will be ongoing.

Performance Evaluations
Performance appraisals don't have to be a painful experience. The whole idea is to improve communication between supervisors and employees. The accurate identification, measurement, and development of performance can have a major impact on productivity, planning, staffing, and budget development. Decisions relating to employee promotion, termination and compensation can be influenced by performance appraisals. How a performance evaluation is done is up to the discretion of the supervisor but the enterable Performance Appraisal Form (PDF) is provided as a guide and a starting point.
