TRiO Eligibility
In order to be eligible for TRiO SSS services, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or be eligible to receive Federal Financial Aid. Also, students must be enrolled at UAS, Juneau Campus and intend to obtain a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree.
Moreover, potential applicants must meet one OR more of the following requirements:
- meet the 2007 federal income guidelines (as outlined below);
- be a first-generation college student (neither parent has a Bachelor's Degree); and/or
- have a documented disability.

Please note: The U.S. Department of Education requires all TRiO Student Support Service Programs to dually enroll 2/3 of its 160 program participants. (Dually enrolled means that a student meets the low-income and first-generation criteria or has a documented disability.) In addition, 1/3 of the program participants that qualify with a disability must also meet the low-income guidelines.
