Safe Zone
The UAS Safe Zone network serves to communicate support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Questioning (LGBTIQ) community on campus. Wherever a Safe Zone logo is displayed near a faculty or staff member's office or worksite, it indicates that the individual has completed an orientation program about supporting LGBTIQ college students and that he or she has made a commitment to being an approachable, unbiased advocate for all students.
For more information about LGBTIQ support services and resources, call the Peer Support Office at 796-6391. Safe zone orientations are offered to university faculty, staff, and student employees at the start of every semester.
