I love Juneau more and more each year. I love the outdoor recreational stuff -- particularly the biking opportunities. There are so many great trails, like the Auke Lake trail near the university. I love the active arts community. I love the Native Alaskan culture and the incredible wildlife. I love the way so many people in Juneau are interested and active in government and community affairs. I love this small town that is so very big in so many ways. In other towns you are an "outsider" for decades. In Juneau you can be involved right now -- (if you are willing to put in the time and energy). I have lived across the U.S. and around the world and I find Juneau to be such a special place. And like Juneau, UAS, because of its size and intimacy gives anyone the opportunity to shine if they want. You can make your own way. You can grow. Carpe diem – Seize the Day!
