How do you think UAS is preparing you for your future?
Most adequately.
Do you know what you might be thinking of for a career after college?
Career in education: I would like to teach grade school history.
Do you have a favorite class or professor?
When it comes to classes and professors, I try not to think in absolutes (i.e. favorites). I couldn’t possibly get all the intellectual stimulation I am looking for from a single course or professor. I like them all for the different things I get out of them. Essentially, it’s the diversity that makes my experience at UAS rich for me.
WHY UAS?
It is near home and affordable; small enough to be able to get to know your professors yet big enough that it doesn’t feel isolated…there is opportunity for academic advancement as well as social interaction.
What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself at UAS?
My prospects are much better than I thought they would be three years ago. Mostly this is due to my experience at UAS thus far (which is in itself quite a broad spectrum).
What surprised you the most once you arrived at UAS?
The switch from high school to college was incredibly striking for me. When I first started matriculating at UAS, I remember marveling at the aura of professionalism and organization.
What was the most fun you’ve had at any campus event?
A French dinner that was hosted by the Global Connections club and assisted by the unofficial “French gang.” We made a delicious onion soup, French desert pastries, and sundry other such exotic foods.
What is the best thing about life at UAS?
Between your studies, club meetings, guest speakers, musical recitals and other such events on campus, life at UAS is never dull.
What do you enjoy doing during your free time?
Planning for the future, music, movies, sea kayaking. I’m a Francophile, so I love anything French.
If you could choose three words that signify UAS, what would they be?
Opportunity. Direction. Betterment.
