Ana Christine Tafoya (President)

My name is Ana Christine Tafoya and I was born and raised in Taos, New Mexico. I am studying Marine Biology and currently studying about sea stars and invertebrates. I first attended UAS in the Spring of 2015 as a part of the National Student Exchange Program. I transferred to UAS in the Fall of 2016 and will be graduating from UAS in the spring of 2018. While attending UAS, it has been a blessing to be surrounded by the community of Juneau and attending UAS has been one of the best decisions I have made. Some things about me: I like country music, love to dance, swim, spend my time doing research on sea stars, and participate in extracurricular activities like SAA and Wooch.een, the Alaska Native students' club. It will be an honor to serve as president for SAA this year. I hope to meet new people and help them get involved in SAA -- it will be a fun year working with everyone at UAS!

Caitlin Zoleske

My name is Caitlin Zoleske and this is my first year here at UAS. I was born in Tennessee but I have lived in many different places, thanks to the military, including South Carolina, Indiana, and finally Alaska. Alaska was my family’s favorite, so now we’re here to stay! I am in the Marine Biology program and hope to work at a marine rescue center when I graduate in 2022. I love music, and play the guitar and piano, as well as tennis. I am so excited to be a part of this community and can’t wait for the year ahead!

Jean Bennett

My name is Jean Bennett and I am from Craig, Alaska. I am in my last year of the bachelors of business administration program here at UAS and am excited for graduation this May. After graduation, I plan to work in some area of economic development to learn more about entrepreneurship. I love to do adventurous activities such as skydiving, parasailing, and riding any roller coaster I can. When in Juneau, I enjoy crafting and attending networking events to meet new people. I have been at UAS since fall of 2014 as a Community Adviser and now look forward to serving students through my position in SAA.
