Conference Planning Course

This spring semester, 16 students from the English and Geography and Environmental Studies BA programs at UAS are enrolled in a 400-level class dedicated to both exploring the conference themes and to planning the event. Co-taught by conference hosts, Sarah Jaquette Ray and Kevin Maier, the class asks students to not only read key works by presenters and about the field of interdisciplinary environmental studies more generally, but also to collectively craft the schedule of presentations, organize the conference outings and excursions, coordinate the food, and generally get involved in the nuts-and-bolts decisions of hosting the conference.
