Ramapo for Children is a highly regarded non-profit organization that serves children and young adults with social, emotional and learning differences. At Ramapo we offer college students and recent graduates unique job and internship opportunities through summer and year-round programs on our Rhinebeck, New York campus. 
Our philosophy is centered around the belief that all children want to learn, feel valued and experience success, and our staff members embrace the challenges and triumphs that come through working with children living with differences. Many of our staff alumni describe their work at Ramapo as one of their most formative personal and professional experiences. Ramapo’s employment opportunities include summer camp counselor positions that focus on working with youth ages 6-21, and RamaYear, a 15- to 17-month program designed for recent college graduates.

• develop the skills needed to succeed with a broad range of children who have varying degrees of needs and abilities 
• benefit from the same state-of-the-art training that Ramapo provides to educators and other industry professionals • emerge with a heightened ability to meet all children’s needs 
• learn how to create environments that celebrate strengths and enable all children to feel a sense of belonging 
• be offered the opportunity to earn up to six college credits through our on-site college course 
• receive a stipend and free room and board 
Challenging recent college graduates to devote a year of their early careers to an immersive service experience on our 250-acre campus. As year-round staff, RamaYear will: 
• experience an outstanding opportunity to hone leadership and communication skills before embarking on a career path 
• work alongside permanent staff members to assist with students and educators who participate in Ramapo’s onsite, adventure-based retreats 
• live with and serve as mentors to the organization’s Staff Assistants: young adults with special needs who are seeking to become self-sufficient while building social and job skills 
• receive an annual salary, health benefits, paid vacation time and free room and board
