Learn a few simple changes you can make to computer settings to prank a colleague or roommate. To keep your computer protected and less likely to be pranked, remember to lock your computer whenever you step away from the desk.

To leave a message in the Windows 10 system clock:

  1. Open the Start Menu
  2. Search for Control Panel and open it
  3. Switch to Icon view (either Large or Small)
  4. Select Region
  5. Click Additional Settings
  6. Access the Time tab
  7. Adjust the fields here
    • The easier place to add a message is the AM and PM fields
  8. Click Apply or OK to save your changes

To change the Sleep timer:

  1. Open the Start Menu
  2. Search for Control Panel and open it
  3. Switch to Icon view (either Large or Small)
  4. Select Power Options
  5. On the left-hand menu, select Change when the computer sleeps
  6. Adjust the timing of when the computer sleeps
    • We recommend only changing Turn off the display
