Winter Break on Campus
Finals and Move-Out
As we plan for the holiday season we hope you take time to relax and celebrate with family and friends. We want to share a few reminders and opportunities to promote safety and wellness as people consider any travel plans for Winter Break.
Fall move-out ends on December 14th at Noon, just after Finals Week (December 7-11). Although you may travel outside of Juneau at any point during the semester, students should remember that any time they leave Alaska for more than 24 hours, they will be required by the State to quarantine or receive 2 negative COVID tests before they are allowed to attend in person classes. Please be aware of this if you choose to travel out of state prior to finals (i.e. Thanksgiving Break).
Winter Break Housing
Students may request to remain on campus through the winter break or return early to quarantine for a $300 fee -- reduced from $500. To be eligible for this service, students must be approved for Spring 2021 Housing. Requests for early move-in or late departure for less than 5 days will be considered on a case by case basis
Winter Break Dining
Dining will remain open with limited hours, with exception to posted University holidays on December 24, 25, 31, and January 1. Housing residents who remain on campus for winter break will be able to use their Fall meal plan balance to make purchases. Students who require additional funding for winter break may request a $200 meal plan be added to their account, which will roll over to Spring 2021.
Spring move-in begins on January 7, 2021. Move-in will occur similar to Fall 2020 - students will be expected to sign up for an appointment, and will be placed under restrictions for testing, minimizing interactions, or quarantine at move-in for up to 14 days. During this time you may be asked to live in a temporary space other than your Fall 2020 / Spring 2021 permanent placement. Learn more about Spring move-in on the Before Your Arrival webpage.
