Covid-19 Operations

The UAS Ketchikan Campus Library is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Additionally, library staff are available for research, database, and e-collections assistance by phone, email, and one-on-one Zoom conferencing. Finally, one of our staff members hosts a library-centered Discord server that students may ask to join. The server allows students to reach that staff member outside of normal business hours and gives centralized, easy-to-use access to chat, voice, video, and desktop sharing options.

Our phone number is (907) 228-4567, and our toll free phone number is (888) 550-6177. Email:

Find Articles

Journal and newspaper articles provide up to date information. The UAS Libraries offer UAS students and faculty access to several databases useful for identifying such articles, many of which also contain the full-text of the articles.

Guidance about which databases are the best for your search topic:

List of all UAS databases by vendor name

Keep in mind while searching in online databases that if the full-text of an article you want is not provided within a database, the UAS Ketchikan Campus Library will probably be able to obtain the article for you through Interlibrary Loan, a service provided free of charge to UAS students and faculty.  Before you fill out an Interlibrary Loan request, however, please search by the title of the journal in Journal Title Search for its possible availability in full-text in another of the databases to which you have access through UAS.

Formerly known as 'Databases for Alaskans', the Digital Pipeline is a grouping of databases for Alaskan citizens to search for information from articles and selected reference sources. Look under the subject categories, or click the link to 'Resources A-Z'.
