What is Academic Advising?
Advising is one of the most important services for students. The interactive relationship provides students with critical help in identifying, planning for, and achieving academic and career goals.
Academic Advisors are resources for:
- Planning for completion of General Education Requirements (GER’s)
- Exploring your options in choosing a major
- Helping with class selection, making a schedule, and registration
- Assisting with the transition from high school to college; workforce to college; or in transferring from another university or college
- Making referrals to other resources on campus and in the community
- Answering questions!
Peer Advisors are also available in the Student Resource Center (SRC) to answer your questions related to common academic policies and registration.
