Student Research and Creative Activity
URECA
The Undergraduate Research, Experiential & Creative Activities (URECA) program at UAS provides opportunities for UAS-enrolled students to engage in extra-curricular research and creative activities that complement and expand upon traditional classroom learning. Funding of up to $2500 is available for eligible projects. The application period ends in early December, and award announcements are made in January. REU
The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program at the University of Alaska Southeast offers summer research experiences to undergraduate students interested in the ecology of marine and temperate rainforest systems. During the 10-week program, REU students at UAS will conduct research under the guidance of faculty and collaborating research scientists in areas from the Tongass rainforest and Gulf of Alaska to Glacier Bay National Park.

Graduate Students:
Natural and Social Sciences: Some faculty at the University of Alaska Southeast accept and support applications for graduate research and study through affiliations with specific graduate programs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Contact UAS faculty directly to explore these opportunities.
Education and Business/Public Administration: Graduate-level research & creative activities education are supportable through some faculty in the Schools of Education and Business at the University of Alaska Southeast.
