The "Live" Classroom

Dr. Anderson Live

MPA classes at the University of Alaska Southeast are broadcast and webcast to Alaska and Yukon through UATV and internet technologies.  Students participate in a live classroom dynamic, interacting with faculty and students from across the regions.  Each class meets once a week from 7:00 - 9:45 pm, Alaska Time.

Tips for Setting up Your "Classroom"

You will see your instructor either on the television or computer screen. Make sure your "classroom" has an internet connected computer (preferably broad-band) with speakers.  Classes are webcast through both Real Player and Windows Media Player.  Archived classes can be accessed through Real Player.

You need a telephone, preferably a speaker phone. If possible, program  the classroom number 1-888-219-2596 for a speed dial.

If you are watching satellite television it is helpful to have a remote control for the TV monitor. When talking on the phone mute the television sound.

If the instructor has uploaded power point slides to the UAS Online site, print them out to facilitate your note taking.

For computer setup questions contact our Help Desk.
